The Little Prince on his way to Tanzania
... you can see well only with the heart!
Tanzania in East Africa is one of the poorest countries in the world. 41 million people live there. Among many problems, such as food, water and health care, education is one of the main challenges for the future of the country. Development funds are used to build schools, but there is a lack of teachers and school books.
1943 Antoine de St. Exupery wrote the book "The Little Prince", a parable about friendship, love and the look at life through the eyes of a child. Since then, this book has changed a lot. It has been translated into over 200 languages, enchants people all over the world and calls for reflection on new and old values!
This is something we like to bring to the people of Tanzania!
From 2005 to 2007 we spent as aid workers in Tanzania, where we made a first translation of the little prince in Kiswahili. 1000 books were printed and given away, revised from a Tanzanian Publishing House, the language improved ... and now he's here, "Mwana mdogo wa mfalme," the little prince in Swahili!
Our vision is to enrich, in a first step, the 4000 school libraries of all the Secondary schools in Tanzania, with the little prince, and to publish and distribute this book in the whole country!
And for this we need your support! Read more about the background and the project as it is. About life in East Africa and the beauty of the language of Kiswahili, the little prince, his values and how he has already changed the world. Last but not least, how to participate and contribute to our dream!
We wish you some fun and information on the following pages!
